A MAN was stabbed in the neck while he enjoyed a night out with friends in Trafford Park.


The attack took place on March 30, while the 26-year-old victim was attending the 'Fifteen Years of Sidewinder' event, at Bowlers Exhibition Centre.


A around 4am, he tried to enter the toilets and became involved in an altercation with a group of men who were congregated in the area outside the toilets.


During the exchange, one man stabbed the victim in the neck, leaving him requiring twelve stitches.


He was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital and was discharged a few days later.
The offender is described as black, male, aged between 22 and 26, about 5ft 7in tall and of average build.


He had short shaven black hair, and spoke with a Manchester accent.


He was wearing a white or light grey long sleeved jumper or jacket.


Det Con Martin Walsh, of Trafford Division, said: "This is a very serious, totally unprovoked attack on a man who was simply trying to use the toilet.


“He was extremely lucky, had the knife hit the carotid artery in his neck this attack could have ended with fatal consequences and we would have launched a murder inquiry.
