A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after reportedly pushing a woman into a fire.
Officers were called to a rural area close to Eeasbrook,in Urmston,shortly before 9.30am on July 26 following a report of a woman with extensive burns to her face and body.
The woman, 42, was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Det Insp Carl Gilbert said: “This woman has suffered extremely serious burns and is fighting for her life in hospital. It is not clear at this stage exactly how the woman came by her injuries therefore we are urging anyone who has any information about what happened on Saturday morning at the site on Eeasbrook in Urmston to contact us.
“If you saw the incident itself or have any information about it then please call us urgently.”
