A RECORD 15,000 students descended on the Trafford Centre this week for their largest-ever student night event.
Students enjoyed DJs, live music and one-off discounts at shops, entertainment venues and restaurants as the centre seeks to introduce its attractions to the city’s latest arrivals.
The event is one of the busiest shopping nights at the centre outside of Christmas.
This is the third Student Night at theTrafford Centre, and organisers report that the number in attendance has swelled from 6,000 students in 2012 to more than 15,000 students at tonight’s event.
Caroline Aikman, marketing manager, said: “Our stores reported huge takings during the evening with some taking 100 per cent more than they projected, with rapid sales especially on fashion.
"This is where we found our stores really stormed it, as today’s students put so much stock on how they present themselves to a competitive world.
