THOUSANDS of pounds worth of high-value jewellery has been stolen after thieves targeted an apartment in Altrincham.

On March 25, between 6pm and 8.45pm, the burglars broke into an apartment on Stockport Road, Timperley.

They smashed a ground floor window in order to get in and then ransacked the property, before leaving with jewellery, hand bags, sunglasses and wedding shoes.

Police have now issued pictures of the stolen jewellery and are urging anyone who is offered these pieces to come forward.

Detective Constable Amy Coleman of Trafford division said: “Some of the stolen pieces are of huge sentimental value, particularly the wedding rings and shoes, and the victims are devastated.

“The thieves will try to sell these pieces on and I would urge people to be mindful of this when being offered any jewellery in the area.

“We have issued a number of pictures of the stolen pieces so if you are offered these or see them for sale on eBay or other internet auction sites then please contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 1718 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
