TRAFFORD’S Society for Abandoned Animal’s annual Summer Fair fundraiser takes place on Sunday, July 12.

The event runs from 12pm until 4pm at Moslet Acre Farm and will feature live music acts, craft stalls, kids’ activities and mini massages, as well as a BBQ meal and a selection of sweet treats and cakes.

Nicola O’Brien, fundraiser at Society for Abandoned Animals, said: “Our Summer Fair is always extremely popular, and this one promises to be even bigger and better than previous years with a whole host of additional activities.

“In addition to enjoying the games and entertainment on offer, visitors can tour the sanctuary and meet our animals, all while making a difference to a local cause.”

The charity spends more than £3,500 per month to care for its animals onsite, which includes food costs and vet bills. At present, the Society has an abundance of kittens in its care, who are all looking for new homes.

Nicola added: “We wouldn’t be able to provide care and treatment to as many animals as we do without the support of the local community. The team and animals like Pippa, a cat that was dumped at our back door, are eternally grateful.”

Ten-month-old Pippa was abandoned with a broken jaw, and after a few months of dental treatment and therapy at the shelter, she was happily re-homed to a family in Sale.

Admission for the fare is £1 adults, 50p for children. All proceeds go towards the rescue centre’s running costs.
