UNIVERSITY Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) is throwing open its doors to the public for its Open Day and Annual Members’ Meeting on September 27.

This year’s showcase event is taking place at Wythenshawe Hospital between 12pm and 3pm in the education and research centre and is themed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of maternity services at UHSM.

The event is open to families and we there will be some special guests on the day. The Annual Members’ Meeting, which begins at 3pm is open to all Foundation Trust members.

Highlights of the day include behind the scenes tours of UHSM’s maternity department and education suite, interactive displays, a look at the Trust’s future developments and a big 50th birthday celebration cake.

There will also be careers and recruitment advice for those considering working in the healthcare profession.

Chief Executive at UHSM Dr Attila Vegh said:“The event is also celebrating our maternity service’s 50th anniversary, so anyone who was born at Wythenshawe or Withington Hospitals, former members of staff from the units and prospective parents-to-be, please help us to celebrate this incredibly important milestone – and enjoy a slice of birthday cake too."

Visitors can watch how UHSM trains the healthcare professionals of the future in our state.
