YOUNG Altrincham pet owners can learn how to prepare their furry friends for the colder months this month.

Pets at Home in Altrincham will be hosting its My Pet Pals Autumn Activity Club, a series of free interactive pet workshops on how children should care for pets responsibly, from October 19-30.

As well as learning how best to feed and clean their pets, children will also get the chance to interact with the small animals in-store.

Store manager, Hannah Jones, says: “We are very excited about welcoming children to My Pet Pals Autumn Activity Club. It’s a great way for children to learn about the importance of responsible pet ownership, whilst having fun at the same time.”

After completing the workshops, each child will receive a workbook, certificate and stickers, along with a pet promise card where they make a pledge to look after any pet they have according to the five welfare needs, covering habitat, health, wellbeing, diet and behaviour.
