TRAFFORD Council, in conjunction with the Trafford Safeguarding Children Board, is throwing its support behind a national child abuse campaign.
The 'Together we can Tackle Child Abuse' campaign aims to highlight the part that we all have to play in protecting children and young people from abuse and neglect.
With 400,000 children in England supported in 2014/15 because somebody noticed they needed help and reported it, its importance is clear.Trafford Council's executive member for children's services, Michael Hyman said sadly a third of people who suspect child abuse or neglect do nothing, many because they're worried about being wrong.
Anyone concerned about a Trafford child or young person should contact the Multi Agency Referral and Assessment Team (MARAT) on 0161 912 5125 or by emailing marat@trafford.gov.uk
Further details about the campaign are available on the Trafford Safeguarding Children’s Board website - http://www.tscb.co.uk/procedures/DFE-together-we-can-tackle-child-abuse.aspx.
