A THIRTEEN-year-old boy from Stretford was arrested after a gang of youths wreaked havoc on the streets of Knutsford last week.

Cheshire Police reported several incidents of affray and criminal damage in The Moor and Longridge areas of Knutsford between 4pm and 5pm on Wednesday, July 20.

All of the incidents are believed to have involved the same group of people, who are thought to have travelled to Knutsford from outside the area.

A 13-year-old boy from Stretford has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in relation to one of the incidents; he has been released on police bail.

Inspector Catherine Mitchell from Macclesfield Local Policing Unit said: “I would like to take this as an opportunity to reassure residents that we are working hard to trace the people involved in these incidents and patrols will be increased in the area.

“A full investigation has been launched and we are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.”
