Crash brings A56 to standstill
TRAFFIC has returned to normal on the A56 after a crash outside Stretford Mall brought the road to a standstill this morning.
Manchester-bound traffic on Chester Road experienced delays after an accident involving two cars and a lorry between Crossford Street and Kingsway closed two lanes during rush hour.
Police were at the scene redirecting traffic and traffic was backed up to as far as School Road in Sale.
However, the vehicles have now been removed and traffic flow has returned to normal.
