A man from Partington has been charged after two loaded guns and ammunition were found.
As part of Greater Manchester Police's (GMP) Operation AVRO crackdown on Tuesday, August 15, officers in Trafford raided an address in Partington.
Two viable, loaded firearms and ammunition were then discovered hidden in a safe.
Neil Rainey, of Derbyshire Road, Partington, has now been charged with possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
The 30-year-old has been "remanded in court for trial", police said.
Operation AVRO is a force-wide initiative that delivers extra resources and specialist officers to a different district across the region each month.
Several warrants and arrests take place on Operation AVRO days - and Trafford saw a significant number take place during the day of "high-visibility" policing on Tuesday.
Chief Superintendent Colette Rose, GMP’s commander for Trafford, said: “Thanks to our exceptional officers, we have seized two viable firearms from the streets of Manchester.
“Our fight against knives and firearms in Greater Manchester will continue day in and day out.”
