A children’s nursery has been rated as ‘outstanding’ for the second consecutive time.

Beanstalks@Coppice in the Sale area of Trafford was visited by Ofsted in January and achieved the highest possible grading overall and in all other sub categories of assessment.

The facility based in the library on Coppice Avenue has a capacity of 28 places for children aged two to four but at the time of the latest inspection had 19 youngsters on the roll. There are eight members of staff.

It was registered in 2015 and was inspected previously in 2018 when it was also rated as ‘outstanding’.

“Managers and staff are incredibly skilled in seeking out and celebrating children’s individual characters,” the report said.

“This helps them to provide a curriculum that is tailored to the needs of each child. For example, staff have identified children who need support in their personal, social and emotional development.

“As such they have rearranged play space and considered the best deployment of staff to meet children’s needs and keep them safe.”

It said that this also helps staff to maintain a sharp focus on children’s identified targets for learning.

“Staff’s consistent modelling of impeccable social behaviour and their tireless work to encourage children are exemplary,” the report added.

“The setting has a strong and inspirational management team which is committed to providing excellence for both the children and the staff who care for them.”

Responding to the Ofsted report, a spokesperson for Beanstalk said: “Beanstalks Childcare has been embedded in the community for nearly 20 years providing high quality childcare and support for local parents and carers.

“We are thrilled to have retained our outstanding grade at Coppice Pre-School and are very proud of all the exceptional staff and children who attend the setting.”
