Waterloo Road star Sue Vincent will be a special guest at an event to celebrate the amazing work done by women in Trafford soon.

She will appear at the Trafford International Women’s Day awards, which take place on Saturday March 9 from 6pm to 9pm at Flixton Girls School – just a day after International Women’s Day.

Trafford councillor Jo Harding is again organising and hosting the event, which pays tribute to women’s achievements across the borough.

Also in attendance will be Waterloo Road’s Sue Vincent. Sue has also appeared in dramas The Madame Blanc Mysteries and Alma’s Not Normal, as well as Coronation Street and Eastenders.

Coun Harding said: “Sue is a passionate advocate for women and is really looking forward to joining us.

“I am delighted to once again host this event that celebrates the achievements of many unsung Trafford women.”

Sue’s first television role was as Anne Bevitt in Casualty, but since then she has become known for her roles in Shameless, Mount Pleasant and Bad Move.  She is also a writer.
