WHILE the Commonwealth Games are in full swing, some lucky youngsters at Bowdon Hockey Club are remembering their recent visit from two of England's hockey players - both former members of the South Downs Road club.

Michael Hoare and Alastair Brogdon visited Bowdon shortly before they left for the Glasgow Games and spoke to the junior players about their time at the club and what they needed to do in order to represent their country at the highest level.

Alastair SAID: "It's great for me to meet the current crop of junior players as they are about the same age as I was when I first started playing at Bowdon."

Also joining Alastair and Michael was Richie Dawson-Smith, the first English man to win a European Club gold medal which he won earlier this year whilE playing for German club Harvestuder.
