MANCHESTER Giants need to 'refocus' for their clash with north west rivals Cheshire Phoenix on Sunday.

The Giants return to the comfort of the Powerleague Trafford Sportsdome home for the clash which tips at 6pm.

coach Jeff Jones will be looking for his men to bounce straight back after successive away losses last weekend against Worcester Wolves 90-81 and Durham Wildcats 70-67.

Jones is keen for the Giants to put that behind them and get back into the kind of form that had seen them rise to fourth in the BBL table before the weekend slip put them back down to sixth.

After Sunday's Durham game he said: "We didn’t play well at all. I’d hoped we would have been ready to go but we weren’t.

“Stefan Gill, Callum Jones and Mike Bernard worked hard but overall it was nothing to write home about."

The Giants came back from Durham empty-handed after a late, late body blow. After tying the game in the last seconds and having a shot at the winner, the Giants were hit with a late three-pointer from Ralph Bucci.

It was an agonising finish after the game had been neck and neck from the opening quarter.

Gill and Callum Jones scored 15 each while Bernard had 10 and eight rebounds.

Before that, last Friday the Giants had another tough loss at highly-rated Worcester. They had battled their way back into a game that had looked at one point to have gone away from them.
