THERE have been plenty of reasons to celebrate at an Altrincham football club after picking up a host of prizes.

Old Altrinchamians won the Manchester League First Division Championship and were given the trophy by league chairman John Hyde.

This was followed by the presentation of a bottle of champagne from the club's sponsor, D G Cummins & Co. Ltd. Knutsford.

Secretary Phil Lewis said: "It was a proud moment for the club.

"They are now promoted into the Premier Division and we have gained promotion before, but never as champions.

"We are looking forward to the coming season and start training at Crossford Bridge in Sale on July 4 at 1pm.

"We are always looking for new players, and anyone interested in joining a well run club, can contact myself on 07753 137 170."

Lewis also picked up the Secretary of the year award at the Manchester League AGM.

It topped off a successful evening for Old Alts after their reserve team picked up the Respect award for the 4th quarter for the 2014/15 season in addition to the overall award for the whole season.
