AS this season draws to a close; Swim Trafford coaches, swimmers and parents can look back at their best year, ever.

Swim Trafford is a performance club of 40 swimmers selected from the Borough’s four development clubs; Altrincham, Flixton, Trafford Metro and Stretford.

The highlights of the year included: Craig McNeil competing at the British Para International Meet in Glasgow; competing against some of the top swimmers from across the world.

They also finished second championship club overall at the Lancashire County championships which was their highest finish in the past four years and they followed up that success with sixth place at the North West Swimming championships.

Meanwhile, James Guy a former Swim Trafford swimmer, and picked-up gold for the 200m freestyle and 4x200m freestyle relay events at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships.

Their celebrations carried on during July and August as 15 of the 40 swimmers qualified for the British, English, Scottish and Welsh summer national championships. Picking-up, gold, silver and bronze, and many personal best times were achieved.
