TRAFFORD MV firsts are fully prepared and ready for their big away game against fellow Lancashire (North) title contenders Littleborough on Saturday.

MV had an unexpected rest last weekend when Orrell postponed their clash to an unfit pitch, despite being given the green light earlier in the morning.

Weather deteriorated and the pitch became unplayable by the time kick off arrived.

MV will be fully rested and raring to get into the fray on Saturday at the third-placed Lancashire club – although pitch conditions may affect this game if heavy rain continues at a venue renowned for its heavy pitches.

Trafford's second sand thirds did get a game on last weekend with both winning comfortably at home.

The seconds triumphed 31-12 against Sedgley Park and the thirds 31-8 against Northwich – both good results for MV.

With the RBS Six Nations Championship kicking off on Saturday with France v Italy in the afternoon and a hugely-anticipated clash between Scotland and England in the early evening, there is likely to be a great upsurge in interest on the back of Rugby World Cup 2015.

Trafford MV would like to invite and local people interested in watching or playing rugby union to visit the club at M33 6LR and enjoy a traditional rugby club atmosphere.

For more information, visit the Trafford MV website or find the club on Facebook and Twitter.

While the firsts are away at Littleborough, the MV seconds are at home to West Park, kick off 2.15pm.

Meanwhile the thirds visit Oswestry at the same time.
