PROFESSIONAL Alan Warriner-Little took on players from the Altrincham and Sale Darts Monday Night League at their recent presentation evening.

The Lancastrian attended the event at the Railway Club on Navigation Road in Altrincham and played against a player from each of the league's eight teams as well as the individual winner, pairs winners, vets winner and captain's cup winner.

The trophies were sponsored by Timpson and their representative helped Warriner-Little hand out the silverware.

Around 100 darts players attended and Warriner-Little kept the crowd entertained with his one liners and general banter.

The league is a brand new one in the area, mixing a standard board with log-end rules – round the board one to 20, double and bull to finish.

The new league has proved popular in Altrincham and Sale and a team from the Brooklands Tap have signed up to join taking the membership to nine, with four more interested in joining.

The current teams involved are:- Wheatsheaf, Railway, Stone Masons, Broadheath Central, Orange Tree, Timperley Con club, Budenburgs and  Brooklands Tap.

The league would like more teams to join with the summer league starting on July 4 and the winter season beginning mid-September.

Any team interested should email league secretary Carl Bailey at carlmbe@hotmail.com.
