YOUNG players at Sale United got a chance to meet Manchester United's teenage star Marcus Rashford when he called in at their Crossford Bridge base.

Eighteen-year-old Marcus presented 'end of season' trophies to Sale United’s youngest players on Saturday, July 16.

His visit came exactly a month after he became the youngest ever player to represent England in a European championship game.

That landmark came just four months after he made his Manchester United first team debut in February.

Marcus spent time presenting awards individually to all Sale United’s youngest players, aged seven and under, signed autographs and posed for photos.

Marcus’ current squad number at Manchester United is 39, and it was a special moment for Sale United’s Michael Kamali, himself number 39 in the Under 7s squad, when Marcus presented him with his award.

Club development officer, Stewart Hamer, said: “It was a fantastic gesture by Marcus to give up some of his time during his rest from professional duties to spend time with our young hopefuls.

"His story is an inspired one, and spending an hour with us at the club will be a treasured memory for all those lucky enough to meet him on the day. ”
